Shelly Taylor: PYROGRAPHY ON EXHIBIT

My 2020 pyrography piece entitled CAW ME (formerly named: QUARANTINE: I GIVE YOU THE BIRD) has been accepted for inclusion in the 2022 MI Artists All-State Juried Exhibit at Studio 23 in Bay City, Michigan. The exhibit runs September 22nd to November 12th, 2022.

The original artwork was burned onto a 12x12" hard maple panel and is mounted (not shown) within a black floater frame. Floater frames are the best choice to display a finished panel, despite the keyhole slots on the backside.

This pyrographic artwork was sealed using multiple coats of Briwax and was hand polished. Briwax is a solvent based blend of beeswax and caranuba wax. The product is recognized by furniture restoration professionals as a premiere, multi-purpose furniture wax. The Briwax produces a lustrous patina which shines without being glossy.
