 CREATING MY PATH is the latest original pyrography piece created in 2023. It was burned on an 18x24" hard maple panel and will be mounted within a floater frame which will add a few more inches to the size. While I wasn't concentrating on pyrography at all, I found a small stack of unused panels and decided to burn a scene on one. I love burning trees!
This panel shown above, along with 3 other paintings, have been entered for exhibit consideration into a call for artists for the "50 Artists of the Great Lakes Bay Region + Art Around the City," a biennial event. It's the first call for artists that I have entered in 2023. If my art is selected, I'll let you know! UPDATE: This piece was selected as part of "Art Around the City" (another piece was selected for the "50 Artists of the Great Lakes Bay Region") - it was reproduced on an aluminum plaque and is part of a two year (2024-2025) outdoor public art installation in Bay City, Michigan.
